Contract Period: 25th November 2017- 30th March 2018

Terms: Winter 2017/2018 Seasonal Position

Work Hours: Average of 40 hours per week during peak season, more in busier times & less in the shoulder season dependent on snow conditions & business demand

Remuneration: 1,500-2,300 JPY per hour, negotiable based on experience

Accommodation: Accommodation available from 18-22,000 JPY per week (subject to availability)

Position Summary:

As a custom boot fitter, you will be required to serve customers in one of our Boot Solutions stores in Niseko or Hakuba. You will be required to make assessment of clients’ needs, measure and fit them into correct size, shape and style of ski and snowboard boots. We also sell a variety of retail products, and so you will also be required to make sales. This role also involves a lot of time spent in the workshop, making boot modifications, alterations and repairs, and manufacturing custom footbeds.

Position Duties:

  • Acknowledge customers quickly and courteously
  • Determine customer equipment needs, assist with boot selection
  • Provide additional fitting service as required
  • Make custom foot beds and liners
  • Perform stance alignment assessments
  • Trouble shooting and boot alterations
  • Perform boot modifications and alterations
  • Assist clients with accessory purchases, suggest add-on sales, fit and sell apres boots
  • Assist at point of sale: take payments, cash handling and register reconciliation/closeouts
  • Complete necessary documentation and paperwork neatly and accurately
  • Comply with all area and industry procedures and regulations
  • Comply with all company, store and area policies and procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of shop
  • Assist when required in warehousing and minor administrative duties
  • Train customers on equipment care and use
  • We are a company that works together and throughout the season you may be required to assist at other store locations

Qualifications:

  • Previous training in custom boot fitting is highly desirable
  • Experience with retail sales of ski and snowboard boots
  • Experience with boot modifications: Stretching boot shells, Liner modifications
  • Experience with making custom innersoles for snow sports is desirable
