This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a growing business within the ski and snowboard industry located in the beautiful mountain area of Niseko, Japan. The position provides exposure to all areas of HR across all stores in Niseko and Hakuba.

Terms: 12 months employment - Full Time employment, Salary negotiable based on experience

Contract Start: 1st October 2017

Remuneration: 400,000 - 450,000 JPY per month

Position Summary:

As Rhythm Japan’s Human Resources Manager you will be responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the HR function. Your goal is to promote Rhythm Japan’s values through effective human resources management and serve as a link between Rhythm Japan’s Management and employees on all HR related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, monitor and administer overall HR Strategies, initiatives, systems and procedures throughout the organisation
  • Coordinate, refine and oversea all onboarding and offboarding procedures for seasonal and full-time staff
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process for all seasonal and full-time positions
  • Co-ordinate seasonal staff training and orientation, performance appraisals and end of season preocedures
  • Coordinate and administer staff accommodation including allocation, inspections and liaising with Property Management companies
  • Monitor and evaluate wage budgets, run weekly reports and communicate findings with department management
  • Organise and implement staff benefits, incentive programs and staff events
  • Work closely with Payroll in all areas concerned with staff pay and communicate any important matters to staff
  • Provide employee counselling when required and coach/mentor/support managers and supervisors when dealing with staff issues
  • Create and implement policies and procedures in line with Japanese Labor standards

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in HR or related discipline
  • 3-5 years HR Generalist and/or HR Management experience
  • Leadership and change management experience
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative decision making skills
  • Sound critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • The ability to work autonomously
  • The ability to manage various projects
  • Excellent organisational & communication skills
  • High proficiency level in MS office applications (Excel, Word)
  • A people person with an extrovert nature and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of individuals
  • Seasonal HR experience, or seasonal work experience with a sound understanding of seasonal staffing requirements highly desirable
