Flying at 110 km/h: introducing Niseko’s newest summer attraction
Hanazono's Black Diamond Superfly "will provide a significant thrill we have never seen on any zip line before”.
Visitors to Niseko will now be able to hit the speeds of a top World Cup ski racer, but you won’t need years of lessons or even a pair of skis. Niseko Hanazono Resort has released plans for its newest summer attraction: the world’s largest mega zip line, with a total gliding distance of over 2.5km and the ability for riders to reach speeds of over 110km/h.
Hanazono Zip World, which has been built by Whistler’s Skyline Ziplines, has been created in three stages that get progressively longer and more extreme. The 2-hour experience culminates in a ride on the appropriately named “Black Diamond Superfly”, Asia’s longest zipline at 1700 metres.

A dual zip line setup will allow guests to ride side-by-side with a friend or loved one
If travelling at 110 km/h isn’t enough to get the adrenaline pumping, it appears as though riders will be flying closer to the ground and surrounding features than has been seen before on a zip line of this nature.
“…the experience will be one of a kind regarding the proximity of flight to the ground and surrounding areas at high speeds”, reads a press release published by Niseko Hanazono Resort.
“Generally Mega Ziplines never have a close proximity mid-flight experience because of the general layout of the land. By having this experience, “BLACK DIAMOND SUPERFLY” will provide a significant thrill we have never seen on any zip line before”.
Anyone with a fear of hurtling down a mountain at breakneck speeds can take some comfort in Hanazono’s dual zip line setup, which allows guests to ride side-by-side with a friend or loved one. Better still, the ride has been engineered with the highest levels of international safety, and features a spring braking system that is considered the safest and most robust in the zip line world.
Hanazono Zip World will launch on July 1 and is scheduled to start taking reservations in early June. It will be one of many summer attractions in Hanazono, including a light-based art installation called “Mountain Lights” – the work of internationally-acclaimed light artist Bruce Monroe.
