Guinness uncovers an unlikely ski destination in new ad.

“Rumour has it, over 40 years ago, a man built a ski resort in the unlikeliest place on the world – the equator. Yet no one is sure it exists. But search for ‘skiing in Indonesia’ and you still, incredibly, get one mysterious match.”

Those are the captivating opening lines from Guinness’s new Southeast Asia promo, released earlier this week. It follows a group of young friends who set off to find the mysterious Indonesian ski resort, rumoured to be located at 15,700-feet on the Indonesian half of Papua New Guinea in the legendary Maoke Mountains.

According to AMV BBDO, the agency that produced the ad, the cast had never seen or touched snow before and their first encounter is captured in the film for real.
