Galaxy Ski Resort in Chongli, China is scheduled to open in December 2017.

China will add, yet again, to an ever-growing list of ski resorts in the country – a number that has tripled to more than 646 over the last decade. Galaxy Ski Resort will be the eighth ski resort built in the Chongli area of Zhangjiakou City, a region that will play host to the alpine events at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games. Other popular resorts in the area include Wanlong, Genting Resort Secret Garden and Thaiwoo.

The resort’s 15 trails will be serviced by two high-speed lifts, giving skiers and snowboarders access to terrain spanning around 315 vertical metres. According to the video, shot by Maolin Gu, the resort will be mostly suitable for beginner and intermediate skiers, with the exception of one or two steeper, more advanced runs.
