The vast area of ski resorts, small towns and natural landmarks that is often blanketly referred to as “Niseko” attracts visitors for many different reasons. Danny Geerken, a real estate professional and keen skier, was initially drawn to the resort after watching an Anthony Bourdain episode that featured the acclaimed Rakuichi Soba.

After many subsequent visits Danny decided to get involved in Niseko real estate, eventually finding what he was looking for in a plot of land in Niseko’s Soga District, which was away from the hustle and bustle of resort bases like Hirafu and Hanazono.

“Having spent so much time all over Niseko I had been fortunate enough to visit each of the four resorts, but I knew that I wanted something a little different.”

But the icing on the cake, he explains, “was when I discovered it is a mere 15 minute walk to the famous Rakuichi Soba, featured in that Anthony Bourdain show that first piqued my interest!”

Danny now wants to share his love for Soga.

“I wanted to keep the land affordable, because I want to share this special place with others. Our plots are set amidst farmland away from the hustle and bustle of the resort bases and have excellent views of Mount Yotei.

“Located in between the Niseko Village and Annupuri resort bases, it’s a great location to access both Niseko United and Moiwa ski resorts in winter and only a few minutes drive from several golf courses in summer.

“[And because] access to the resort bases is only a few minutes by car, the price tag is very reasonable.”
