Hyatt has unveiled plans to open in Niseko in 2019

Niseko is in the midst of a luxury boom, strengthened by the announcement today that Hyatt will be opening a hotel and residences in Niseko Hanazono from 2019. Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono will join Park Hyatt Tokyo as the brand’s second hotel in the country.

The 100-room ski-in ski-out hotel will feature state-of-the-art facilities including restaurants, corporate meeting areas, golf clubhouse, ski shop, spa, fitness centre and swimming pool.

An additional 100 privately-owned residences will operate under a rental program managed by Park Hyatt. Owners will have the option to rent out their residence when not in use.

Park Hyatt will join a growing number of businesses competing at the top-end of the Niseko market, including Niseko Village-based Hilton and The Green Leaf Hotel, and the newly built World Ski Awards nominee Ki Niseko.

Park Hyatt will need to overcome the challenge of setting up on the Hanazono side of Niseko, which is less developed than the more popular Hirafu Village – an area renowned for its vibrant nightlife and plentiful dining options.

“We are excited to collaborate with PCPD, majority-owned by leading Hong Kong company, PCCW Limited, on this landmark luxury development”, said David Udell, Group President, Asia Pacific, Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

“This project is a testament to our commitment to strategic and thoughtful growth in Japan. We are grateful to have the opportunity to introduce the Park Hyatt brand to Niseko, one of the most renowned ski resort destinations in the world, and we know that the brand’s sophisticated and personalized service will attract guests from around the world.”
