Aussie snowboarder Briony May Johnson shows us why Lotte Arai is a must visit
YES. Snowboards team rider Briony May Johnson grew up riding Mt Hotham in Australia, but these days she calls Myoko Kogen her home mountain – where she helps her parents run the Refre Hotel.
“It’s a family-run business, we all get along, we all love the snow and this is home for me now.”
In this first episode of Tasman Team, a series showcasing “the epic humans who make up the aus/nz YES. Team”, Briony hits Lotte Arai and shows us just how good the resort can get – especially if you know it as well as Briony presumably does (Lotte Arai is roughly a 30-minute drive from their hotel).
Lotte Arai picked up Japan’s Best Ski Resort for Powder in our Ski Asia Awards this year, and for anyone wondering why, there is plenty of evidence in this 8-minute edit. Enjoy.
