With 14 metres of snow a season, a trip to Lotte Arai promises powder in spades.

Lotte Arai resort opened this season after 11 years in a state of abandonment and, if its new promo vid is anything to go by, its owners are pinning the success of the resort on the incredible powder it was once known for. The resort is 70% ungroomed and has 10 avalanche-controlled areas which, loosely translated, means it’s a dream destination for powderhounds.
